What's up Tools?
Broadcast
Creating a self-hosted software, probably one of the first things one should consider is offering some demo for potential customers to evaluate what the app looks like.
Well, it took about 3.5 weeks, but I've finally added it at https://demo.sendbroadcast.net.
Modified a few things in the code to:
• Disallow demo users from deleting or updating certain settings
• Added a cron job to "reset" the system every 15 minutes
• Added a call to action right within the demo
And of course, setting up a whole different VPS to host the thing.

The first alpha version was released to early supporters over the weekend. Like all alpha software, it wasn't without its hiccups.
It took 5-6 weeks to get the product to market, and during this period of time, a lot of coding happened.
I also built this in public throughout this whole time, letting people know what I was building.
In a "build and launch fast" fashion, I don't know if I prefer this cadence of speed. It definitely took a toll on my physical health as I stayed up late (a lot) to get code written and tested.
At the same time, once you prelaunch and take money from people, there's a certain expectation and you (as the builder) need to focus and get the product into people's hands.
Now that it's been 3 days since the product was released into the wild, I'm back at refining the product based on the early feedback.
This second time around, I'm going to pace myself a little bit slower to keep things more manageable (as burnout can definitely set in if one isn't careful).
Onward to more releases this week!

The Ramen Tools wiki is finally ready!
These are actually collaborative listicles where any user can add a tool, remove it, re-order, add in groups, describe, etc
A wiki has basically the same features as your tools' dashboard, but it is a collaboration between users and is focusing on a specific topic.

Few days before launching on Product Hunt, I prepared a little game.
Let's see if it goes viral. At least I had a lot of fun!
It's all about the tools and their logos. Play 60 seconds a day and reach the top of the leaderboard at the end of the month!
So here comes my question: Do you know your tools?

You can now set your role, location and objectives in your profile/bio.
For example, you may want to mention you are #indiemaker, #solopreneur and #youtuber, and you live in #france where you are looking for a #remotejob
These tags will give you more visibility all other RamenTools and especially in the Explore pages. It's really a must!

After a successful launch on X, we are now 100 users on RamenTools.
While RamenTools is still a MVP, this is definitely a huge milestone for me.
100 makers, 100 stacks, that's also 500 tools and plenty of interesting data!
